Peter Taylor Associates Limited are a well established team of Chartered Architects and Technologists delivering quality architecture across the residential and education sectors. We operate as a single entity providing services from its three offices to UK and overseas Clients.
PTAL was founded in 1978 and operates with a staff complement of 60 from regional offices in London, Birmingham and East Sussex.
The Company generates repeat business commissions from its existing private sector and public sector framework agreements amounting annually to approximately 80% of fee turnover. This significant level of repeat business can only be sustained by providing services that meet and often exceed Clients expectations.
PTAL’s success is due to the commitment of its team through building of strong relationships with our Clients, Local Authorities and through the company’s involvement with the local community.

We enjoy working with Local Authorities and have proven experience in working directly with many London boroughs in developing strategies that meet the needs of the local community and drive value through development. This includes continuing to deliver multiple schemes for the London Borough of Hounslow.

We provide both pre and post planning architectural services across a range of building types and tenancies. Our work is focused on making places for people and in strengthening local communities. It is naturally informed by sustainability and modern methods of construction. Among our many work streams one of our key skills is working alongside Design and Build contractors to develop residential schemes. We consistently add value through optimisation of the layouts and rationalisation of the technical design to the satisfaction of developer and end user Client.
Our work here is both technically challenging and rewarding. Challenging in terms of solving the complex range of problems experienced in integrating a wide range of uses on the same site. Rewarding in terms of the response to complex design briefs to maximise opportunities.
We also have a rapidly growing education sector. Our ongoing relationships with Local Authorities and Government agencies not only demonstrate our ability to engage and work collaboratively, they also demonstrate our understanding of education design and priorities. We continue to deliver high architectural quality in this current fiscal climate.
As well as design commissions we also undertake advisory work. We have an RIBA Registered Client Design Advisor within our team.
PTAL operate a Quality Management System according to BSI EN ISO 9001 (click here), and are committed to the implementation and updating of our systems.
Our Environmental Policy is fundamental to our practice, and we are BSI EN ISO 14001:2015 (click here) certified.
We have the capability to utilise BIM, through our Revit software, on any project to suit the particular needs of our Clients. This includes providing a BIM coordination role.
Our in-house visualisation department has successfully collaborated with architects, interior designers and developers to communicate their design proposals to a wider audience.
