Founded in 1978, Peter Taylor Associates Limited (PTAL) are an established team of Chartered Architects and Technologists delivering quality architecture across multiple sectors.
PTAL operates with a staff complement of 50 from regional offices in London, Birmingham and East Sussex to both UK and overseas Clients.
Approximately 80% of the Company’s annual fee generation is from repeat commissions from our Clients. This significant level of repeat business can only be sustained by providing services that meet, and often exceed, our Clients’ expectations.
PTAL’s success is due to the commitment of its talented Team and the building of strong relationships with Clients, fellow Consultants and Local Authorities and through the Company’s active involvement with the communities in which they are a part.

Retail, Commercial & Industrial
Our team has a wealth of experience in the design and delivery of retail premises, commercial offices and industrial buildings for a range of Clients including Lidl, Somerfield, WH Smith and Waterstones. We continue to deliver practical and aesthetic commercial environments whilst maintaining cost efficient proposals for Clients and contractors.
We have designed and delivered distribution and manufacturing units in excess of 500,000 ft² for Clients such as Do It All, Boots and NOM Dairy Production.
We have addressed the challenge of working in an increasingly digital-orientated construction and property industry and our in-house visualisation department produces award winning visuals and presentations to market and publicise developments, secure planning consent and to assist Clients to better view, understand and experience their building project as it progresses through the design and construction phases.
Our in-house department has also collaborated with other architects, interior designers and developers to help them communicate their design proposals to a wider audience.

CDM / Principal Designer
We are able to provide Principal Designer services in accordance with the requirements of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. Regular reviews of our projects are completed to ensure that Health & Safety issues are considered, not only during the design & construction process but for the entire lifecycle of the buildings that we design.
We have been designing and drawing using Autodesk Revit for a number of years and now all our commissions use this three-dimensional and highly interactive CAD software. We also have the capability and experience to utilise BIM, through our Revit software, on any project to suit the particular needs of our Clients, including providing a BIM coordination role.
PTAL are Lloyds Registered for full certification for BIM Level 2 capability.
PTAL operate a certified Quality Management System to BSI EN ISO 9001, and are committed to its implementation and continuous improvement. Our Environmental Policy is central to our business and we are also BSI EN ISO 14001 certified.
