PTAL have been appointed by Neilcott Construction Group to deliver a new 3FE special educational needs school in Strood, Kent. The new school will form part of a larger facility offering pupil places for students aged 3-19.

The provision is for a wide spectrum of SEN pupils inclusive of Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This project makes use of PTAL specialist understanding of the particular design requirements and educational needs of SEN schools. PTAL is taking an active role in engaging with the school and local authority to ensure that the most vulnerable of students have the high quality specialist teaching facilities they require to ensure the pupils have the best learning environments in which to flourish.

Our appointment to this project is testament to our extensive schools experience and our particular eye for detailed design. Our efficiency and expertise in design management ensures that the project will be delivered on time and to budget allowing the local authority to meet the demand for new pupil places.

Abbey Court SEN School was completed on time and to budget in April 2017.

The project has been shortlisted for Best Education building at the LABC Awards 2017.
