PTAL are growing their London office with the appointment of ex-DLSM Architectural and Project Director, Simon Spiteri. The appointment to the London office is part of PTAL’s 40th year commitment to continued growth in the residential, mixed use, education and hospitality/ leisure sectors of its business.
His recent project work includes a number of high profile projects overseas, including a new build shell and interior for Deek Duke, Beirut and Index Mall, Dubai, where initial strategic studies were key for unlocking the future retail, F&B mix of over 150,000 sq.ft. Other work in the region includes the design and delivery of the Galvin brother’s restaurants, Demoiselle and Galvin at City Walk II, Dubai.
Having studied architecture under the late Florian Beigel, he completed his Pt.3 qualification in 1996 at The Bartlett School of Architecture whilst also working on high end residential projects in London’s Belgravia district. He later joined EC3 Architects and then Gensler in 1999 where he worked as a shell architect on GCHQ, Cheltenham. In 2003, he founded Urban Arc and was shortlisted for the Downland Prize in 2004. Development of Urban Arc, led in 2008, to him taking up the position of Architectural Director at interior design practice Design LSM where he went on to build and lead a team of architects and designers delivering exemplar design gaining many awards along the way.
Simon now joins the progressive and talented practice, Peter Taylor Associates Limited who are one of only a handful of UK practices to be BIM level 2 accredited and underwritten by Lloyds of London.
